Tips to reduce your screen time

Too much screen time? You need to learn to SWITCH OFF!

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve found my screen time has really sky rocketed during lockdown. Whether that’s scrolling on my phone, being glued to my laptop or the hours spent finding something new to watch on Netflix. How have I only just discovered Schitt’s Creek!?!?

Some days you’ve just got to do what you can to get through, but it’s so important to take time for yourself and switch those blue light devils off.

My favourite things to do that don’t involve screens are:

Sudoku

Oh yes, I LOVE THEM. I have a number of sudoku books by my bed. The perfect way to switch off before bed if I don’t have the energy to read.

Cooking

This has long been a passion of mine. I find it fun to read through my recipe books and pick something to cook. I definitely find cooking therapeutic. And whilst we can’t enjoy eating out at restaurants (another thing I miss terribly) its fun to try and bring a bit of them to us!

Walking

I’m very fortunate to have a number of beautiful parks close to my home. Being around nature makes me feel good. The fresh air, and sometimes even a little hit of vitamin D when the sun decides to shine!

Luckily for me these are all accessible during lockdown. Though I’m not going to lie I do miss restaurants and the pub, very essential non-screen time…
